new grower from south africa

i am wally badenhorst and i started growing giant pumkins last year.
geoff dunn and me had a contest on for the bigest pumpkin, i won this year.     (115 Pd.) his record is (165 Pd.) a preious year.
 
we did it totally wrong. with al the info that we got from this pumkin group we will do it better this year.
 
ower planting seson start at the first of september, if we get lukky and grow big one were can weigh ower pumpkins. is there special roles or not.?
 
we will appreciate all good atvice.
