     There is one of castellucci's specimens in vol. II that has a dill
ring.  i wasn't sure which one it was.  i don't really know what page
it's on, but it's in the lower left hand corner of a left side page.  i
know that's not very specific, but i don't have the book in front of me
right now.

how are things down south?  is the heat affecting your crop?  things
have been pretty hot up here in NY.

I'm looking at a photo of Castellucci's 682.4, and I see no sag lines.
John Castellucci won the Howard Dill Award for pumpkin excellence with
the
682.4 in '96.
There is a textbook photo of a pumpkin with sag lines in Langevin's new
book,
World Class Pumpkins, II   page 33, lower right corner.....Kirk Mombert
with
his 866 lb fruit of '96.
