John,
I do not understand what is so difficult about that program.. Is your
pumpkin 40 inches OTT, or is that 40 inches in circumfrence, (which is
just around the stem to the blossom end with out touching the ground?)
If 40 inches is your circumfrence, yuo have an approximate 30 pound
pumpkin.. I say approximate, because the new chart in the How To Grow
World Class Giant Pumpkins II starts at 50 inches for circumfrence.. Now
if your pumpkin is going at 40 inches in OTT, (which is no where near a
basketball), it only wieghs 2 pounds..The heavy hitters in here know,
and most willagree, that this program works, right down to the penny..
It is simply the chart from the book , in a program format.. Good Luck..
Oh by the way, my squash from the Andersen 815 Pumpkin, is now at
69/49/46... for an OTT of 164 inches.. The circumfrence chart has it at
97 pounds, and the OTT chart has it at 108.5 pounds.. The computer
program has it at 103.12 pounds.. I have to say, for an estimating chart
to be so off, all my measurements are coming out pretty close..
