Hi everyone,
My question is How close to the pumpkin can I cut it. This
is the situation I have a I think two pumpkins starting out on my
main. The vine has grown about 6 feet beyond the last pumpkin.
I know I have to bury this vine down three inches to stop growth.
I have to leave enough slack before I bury it so that the last pumpkin
can grow large without putting stress on the vine causing damage.
I have another idea.... could I somehow cut the vine real close to my
pumpkin stem that way the fruit could expand unrestricted. Is that how
it would work or would the vine just start growing again in which
case I would cut it again.. Any ideas comments on my idea. Be gentle
this is my second year. Also where are the lists of club weighin
sites. I 'm hoping I will at least have a pumpkin I can bring,
not the winner ofcourse but a decent contestant. Please respond I
want to take action on the vine this weekend thanks again.
pumpkin flower too!
