Iowa brief update

Hello,
   MAYDAY!!! MAYDAY!!!  We just can't seem to get those nice gentile rains anymore. Recieved about 1 1/2 in about 40 minutes complete with a beautiful light show and tremendous winds!!! Some in excess of 60 mph!! Yes we recieved severe damage to all plants. Yes rocky including your 879!!! It probably took it the worst. Took several hours to roll the vines back over and try to rebury.. They never look the same again after that.  The only thing we haven't got this year is the H- word.
     The wind breaks helped a bunch but not much we could do to stop all that wind. Plants look alittle better today but it's our 3rd day in a row of 92 to 95 and atleast 2 more coming. We have had wind and this does help a bunch. The heat index today was 105. and the expected index tomorrow is 110 to 115!!! Love that Iowa weather.
