WROTE: >>>>its july fifth and i just set my first pumpkin this morning on
my zehr 1061 X
1061 cross. I'm so excited! its a beatiful plant and very resistant. it
hasn't cracked anywhere and the 90+ heat doesnt even phase the leaves. it
has
a 15' main and tons secondaries. If anyone has the zehr 1061 x 1061 cross
write me so we can compare notes. also the female had at least 6 or 7
pistols
on it is that good or bad?<<<<<<<
I am from N. Royalton, Ohio. My 1061 cross sounds exactly like yours.
The leaves seem to be heat resistant and it is growing like there is no
end. I have set a couple of fruits, but, I believe the monsterous female
flower is still on its way. Look at all those females at the vines head
end. A big one will be noted by the female flower size and stem. "It
will stand out". My vine looks a steel cable, very strong and crisp,
strands of dark green streaks. I love the tap roots this plant sends
down; they look like ligaments from a human.......very strong and wide.
Fairborn.............keep these babies growing and give them plenty of
water and fertilizer.
