Glover, Vt got it too.  We had strong winds and an
awful lot of lightning.  I really lucked out though, my
house (which is about 75 feet from the garden)
blocked a lot of the wind.  I still had a few vine ends
get twisted though, but I got most of them
straightened back out and buried like they should
have been.  Now the plants look better than they did
and are growing even faster. 
 
BTW- The first born on the "Vermonster" was
pollinated on June 30th, and now (July 8th) has a
circumference of 17 1/2 inches. Probably not a
record, but I'm happy.
