Dear Ann Landers...is there a preferred secondary vine position for all of
us pumpkin freaks that cant seem to set fruit on the main vine?I have fruit
set on the first two secondaries from the stump at about 6 feet out.All the
info I get from newsletters etc only indicate "secondary..4 feet out" but
don't say which.I remember last year the oldest leaves were dying off in mid
season due to age and sun abuse...if i set on the first/second secondary
,these leaves are likely to die off .Should I set one out further like the
10-15 foot golden zone for the main vine people? My secondaries can only grow
8 feet before termination, but I can set pumpkins on secondaries that are 20
feet from the stump. What would all you guys do?(evryone knows that Ann
landers and Dear Abby have a group of writers working for them)...... GlennA
