How come nobody is concerned about the toad?
(Joke)  I got lucky in the same sort of way.  I was
trying to decide whether or not to cut off the
secondary vine growing off the main right next to
the first pumpkin I set.  The wind twisted and split
it so I cut it off and put captan paste on it.  I don't
know if it was a good idea or not, but the decision
was made for me. 
 
Does anyone else cut off the secondaries next to
their pumpkins?  It made a lot more room for the
shoulders to grow out.
