Yeah, I WISH I had time to do all of the things I keep talking about, but it
is too much for one person! I guess we all have to pick our specialty and go
with that, then come here and share all the info! I am the same as you, I
couldn't do justice to any statistical research right now. I guess winter
would be a good time, maybe. WHo knows, I might try it! I just thought of one
thing I might try....I can access all the databases of weather for each
person's home topwn where all of their pumpkins were grown. Maybe if I run
some sort of cross check on a bunch of them, I (or some software) can find
similarities in weather or rain, day temps, night temps, sunny, cloudy, or
some sort of weather patterns among people who had high incedences of
splitting. AND among those who grew the big ones! There might be something to
it that everyone is missing which is playing a part in both the good and the
bad. Who knows! Of course I could go and send surveys (or do a web page) for
all growers to fill out, and try to find some cultural similarities that
match up with certain problems, or good results, etc. I do think there might
be something to fertilizer:water:heat ratios, but it would take a LOT of
research to figure it all out, but it COULD be done!
Yikes, I have to stop thinking....I am going crazy!
STEVE, JUST THINK ABOUT GROWING A PUMPKIN FIRST! AUUUUUUUUUGH!
 Ha ha!
