Ok, it's the end of September and I have a whopper on the vine -- measures
out to 900+ pounds. That's a pretty good effort for a rookie pumpkineer.
Now, what do I do with it? I can't exactly put it in the back of my Saturn!
Heck, I can't even pick it up. The front end of my tractor lifts off the
ground when I use the boom and chain.
How do I get this beast to a weigh-off? How do I get it off the ground?
Should I have done something back, say, in July when it was a mere pup?
Man, I'm sure glad I'm not pretending to have a 1,500 pounder! Then I'd
really be in trouble.

If you look in Don's first book you will see us carrying a 617 out of the
patch on one of the tarps that Ray sells. Now you get them on the tarp the
same way they get a clean sheet under a patient in a hospital bed. You fold
the tarp tip the Pumpkin to one side put the folded tarp underneath. Tip
from the other side and pull the other half of the tarp through. Never thump
the Pumpkin on the ground or drag it. Always have two more people than you
think you need.
