I figure squash bug is our worst pest. I have seen vines with every leaf
collapsed and dead with a couple dozen squash bugs on every remmant
leaf.
I have not heard anyone mention Squash beetle. I have several per leaf
in September in Jackson County, a commercial pumpkin area 40 miles north
of me. Squash beetles and mexican Bean Beetles are the two Ladybird
beetles that are serious plant pests. Both look similar but the Squash
beetle is twice as large as the Mexican Bean Beetle and less coppery
color. I have killed two Squash beetles this year. Is this pest a
problem in any other areas? I have never seen them on anything except
Pumpkin and squash.
