Someone had asked the question about a week ago regarding the incubation time of
Squash Vine Borer Eggs.
Here is the info I received from Jerry Brust at Purdue.
Glen, yes weather will play a big factor in determining when eggs will hatch.
Weather as we are having now (90's) will cause eggs to hatch in 3-6 days. In
cooler temps (lower 80's) eggs will take 5-10 days to hatch. Nothing controls
eggs until they hatch, at this time you have about 1-2 days until the larvae
are in the plant and can't be controlled then either. This is why they are
difficult to control--such a short time period in which they are vulnerable.
