My experience is pretty similar. I have two; one has worked flawlessly
for a year, the other one got wet inside somehow and quit working. Very
annoying. I have tried several brands of automatic timers from very cheap
to fairly expensive and I haven't found anything I am really happy with
although the Nelson models are a reasonable compromise.
I'd like something that is:
- Mostly metal, preferably brass or stainless steel
- Battery operated, programmable, and includes a low-battery indicator
and completely waterproof electronics
- Won't seep when closed
If anyone knows about something like this I'd really like to hear about it.
I am tired of spending $12-$50 on timers that break after one or two seasons.
I'd be happy to spend $100 or more on something I could count on for ten
years. Any hints?
