The temperature has been in the mid 90's with high humidity for the last three days and the forcast indicates that the heat will continue for 5 more days.
The following is my rating for the plants I'm growing and for my neighbors plants in regards to their ability to withstand the heat. **********=the best *=the worst.
1056 Stellpflug ********** only the very new growth shows a little wilting. No aborts still vigorous.
1092 Burke ******** again only new leaves wilting, yet wilting a bit more than the Stellpflug. 1 out of 18 aborted
1010 Mackenzie ******* very similiar to the Burke yet showing a little leaf burn. 3 out of 12 aborts
968 Sproule ***** about 2/3rds of all secondaries wilting from new growth back to 10 feet.
940 Mombert ***** same as Sproule
936.5 Handy********* second only to the Stellpflug. No aborts. Very sturdy leaves.
866 Mombert* does not like the heat aborted 6 of 8 females even on cooler days. Growth stops.
881 Dill ******* stays fairly strong yet starting to get more wilting leaves daily
935 Lloyd*** growth has stopped 90% of leaves wilting.
I'll get more data from other neighbors plants tomorrow.
