My pumpkin at 40 days is about 240 total inches and I fertilized 4 times
this last week with 14-0-47. growth seemed to be getting under 1 inch a day
when I didn't fertilize and went up each time I did fertilize so I upped the
fertilizer. Today, when I got home in the afternoon, I found a stem split
where the pumpkin conects to the stem, like an inch long. I am slowing down
the fertilizers and praying that the pumpkin dind't get air into the cavity.
I pasted it and now am going with the slow and steady. I would rather
have a 500 llb one than a 6 or 700 llbs one that splits at the end.
