Judy,
if you didn't pollinate a pumpkin, chances are pretty good that the
bees did it for you. If not, it will abort quite shortly afterwards. As
far as pumpkin shape goes, you can have many variations on a plant. i have
a plant now that has 2 decent sized pumpkins on it. One is probably the
ugliest thing i've ever seen, and the other is more round, although it has
a couple of lumps and bumps. Much like that whole forrest gump box of
chocolates thing, on a pumpkin plant, you never know what your gonna get.

Hi, is it true that if you don't pollenate a pumpkin that it will look like
a watermelon. I have 2 pumpkins, 1 I did not pollenate and it looks like a
watermelon the other I did pollenate and it is a perfectly round.

Judy, my first post about it was a joke. This guy has just been going
through a lot of trouble, and now finally got his pumpkins pollenated, so I
joked with him saying the shape of his pumpkin (watermellon)
predispositioned it to blow up soon.
