Sounds like the stem detached itself on  the underneath
side...............This probably was caused by some stem stress.......had
you loosened the vine ......such as cut the tap roots on the vine so as the
pumpkin grows the vine lifts with it..some add blocks to help lift the
first 2ft of vine and 2ft of vine past the pumpkin..(both sides of the
pumpkin)..need to move on to the next set..........and free it from the
ground............good luck brock
