Newsy Notes
Hi Folks,
First, I spoke with Joe "Zoo Doo" Mills today. He wants all his pumpkin
buddies to know he still loves pumpkins and wishes everyone the best of luck
growing this year. Remember, you Southerners, Joe is still sponsoring the
Southern Cup. It's currently held by John Robinette with his 823.
Something to shoot for!!
Second, I'm not sure how many of you are within striking distance of the
D.C. area (Bill Susa! Steve from DC! POV, are you out there?? Anyone
else?), but one of our esteemed pumpkin carvers from the DC extravaganza
last fall, Alan Matsumoto, is busy this weekend (June 9-11) at the Fairfax
Fair, in Fairfax County, Virgina (a close-in D.C. suburb), creating a
massive sand sculpture. He's an accomplished sand sculptor and it's a real
treat to watch him work. For a reminder of what Alan can do to a pumpkin,
check out "DC Carving Events" on Shellie's website:

Good growing, everyone!
Cheers!
Beth
p.s. Please email me privately if you'd like more info about the Fair.
