I have heard of people planting squash away from the patch and colonlize
bugs there. Always after my father when he decides to nuke the squash.
Bugs then find another snack usually the patch. good luck in the quest
for the biggie.

Yes, I have heard that Hubbard squash is very attractive to those bugs
(cuke beetles and squash bugs). This is the organic way; however I
personally like to just blast them.
