Re: Wilt after burying vines
John,
I'm growing at Ken Mitchell's ranch (aka. Turkey Man). He was gracious
with a piece of ground and with a little effort we have the best looking
patch I've ever had. With a little luck and if the weather stays normal we
are looking good. Even with the extreme heat last week our plants grew all
day. As for fertilizer injectors yes I have one on order and should be
installing it next week. My plants are coming along I start much later
than most growers so there isn't any comparison yet. I see most of you
guys are vining out about 8 feet or so and I'm just getting started. It's
hard to play catch up all summer but that is part of the fun. I see you
guys setting pumpkins and I'm still worried about getting the vine on the
ground. Time will tell and so far things are looking good.
One more thing about your leaves wilting. It's common for the that third
leaf from the growing tip to burn I've lost dozens of them. The best part
about these plants is there is another leaf right next to it that will take
its place. Not to worry.
Jon
I am trying to keep a constant weak fert solution going as I water with
