There are generally two simple reasons for yellow spots in leafs.
1. Genetic - just like some vines are yellow and some green.
2. Stress in the past week. If the plant underwent interruption in normal 
growth and production, due to a hot spell, lack of water, etc, then 
micronutrients such as iron can be missing from some areas of the plant. Thus 
the yellow spots. Generally they do not cause any harm, but I would suspect 
that they do not participate in photosynthesis, which is not a good thing.

If the leaves actually start to shrivel up and die, that is another story, 
probably insects.  Or it is an indication that the gods Cucu and Britt have 
not been propitiated, and you need to offer them more human sweat mixed with 
various types of animal waste products. ;-)
