Bill,
It is not so much that the ant's are a direct
problem. The real problem is they are the vector for aphids, which are a real
problem. I have been using a solution of diazanon spray and granules around the
perimeter of my patch and it works well. Last year the aphids did major damage
to the plants and they are hard to eradicate as they dwell beneath the leaf
canopy.
