RE: Saving males

John: Last year I got tired of not having a man around when needed and so I kept a supply of pollen in the refrigerator, in a small, covered, plastic container. I labeled each one so that I knew which plant it was from. That way, I was able to use pollen from 5 to 10 flowers on each female that I pollinated.

Subject: Saving males

Estimados amigos,
I have a relative shortage of males on my "pollinator" plant, and two females
on the main Hester will be ready tomorrow. So I picked two males from the
pollinator which just opened this AM and am keeping them in a vase in the
house until tomorrow to be sure I have a male or two ready for tomorrows
festival.
So, the question is, will the pollen on males that are reduced to the state
of "cut flowers" be alive and well 24 hours later?
