Re: Hail! SW Ontario

John,
I've been there. Your AG plants are far from being done. Like Rock says,
check out the excellent article Bob Matthews wrote about the hail damage in
my patch last year. It is amazing how much these plants can bounce back and
how little time it takes.
Bob's article is at: <A HREF="http://www.pumpkinnook.com/commune/featpic.htm">

Will the vines recover the ruined leaves, or am I basically done?

Many punctures through the leaves, especially along the fence, where I think
they may have been bouncing off and through my leaves. Smaller leaves are
fine but the big ones (12 - 18 inches) have a dozen holes a piece. I just
finished burying my vines earlier in the week, flowers are fine. The leaves
aren't shredded, and still maintain their shape. I am concerned that between
the burying stress and the hail, the leaves won't recover.

 Any suggestions.
