Dual main vine strategies

I have a dual main vine on my 968 Stellpflug plant.  My plan was to either 
(1) turn one of the main vines into a secondary or (2) cut one of them off.  
Any thoughts on this matter would be appreciated; I could develop an argument 
for either method.  Thanks.
