Pumpkin Seed

Hi,  I have been gardening many years in southern Illinois.  I would like to try my hand at growing pumpkins especially a giant pumpkin.  Could someone please tell me how to get some seed.  I have received and planted 588 Kuhn 1997 (1 seed came up out of 2) also  planted 521 Kuhn 1998 (both seed came up.  I would be pleased this first year if I could grow a 200-300 pound pumpkin.  I have know maure or organic fertilizer available only chemical fertilizer.  Will this work?  Also will the smaller pumpkins such as big max and others cross with the Kuhn seed I have or will they pollinate at different times?  Any help would be appreciated.
