No, never had bugs infest the syrofoam under my pumpkins. I use the 2" thick 
stuff. 

Florida has the record on gigantic bugs and our populations of insects and 
such are outrageous due to year round warmth, so I wonder why they infested 
your styrofoam hen house roof yet don't come near my foam? Could it be 
they're after a good, dry and warm medium for hatching eggs? My patch is 
sprayed often, so the bugs wouldn't want to set up homemaking in such a wet, 
hostile place.
