No snickering here. Pointy end down is fine. Some people also lay them flat in. I split the difference, and put them in slanted. Don't put them in  too deep, an inch is fine. Keep the soil pretty moist but not soggy wet. If there is a shoot coming out it shouldn't be more than a few more days if its warm where you are.

Hi List,
I have a question about seeds.  Which way do you put them in the ground?  I put mine "pointy" side down.  Right?  Wrong?  It's been 7 days, so I dug one up and looked at it.  There was a shoot coming out of the "pointy" side.  I put it back the way it was, but now don't know if they've been planted wrong.  If so, what should I do?
