Shortest day and pumpkin wine in NZ

Just a quick line to say "G' day".

Today is the shortest day so a milestone to reach. The winter has been cold
with southerly winds straight off Antarctica with heavy rain or no wind and
very frosty - still, it should kill off a few bugs. I am not sure if I will
be growing a pumpkin next summer as I have been making a lot of wine and I
want to make some Summer Wine with all the ingredients from the garden. This
should mean that the patch gives way to strawberries - which would not do
the soil any harm to have a break. If anybody has a decent recipe for
Pumpkin Wine that would be appreciated.

Best wishes to you all for a great season. Don't just grow pumpkins - grow
friends as well :-)
