punched her on the leaf. She kept moving so I let her have it again. When
she
hit the ground she was still moving so I punched her into the dirt. There
was
small movement in her legs but I thought it was just nerves. She was upside
down so I figured it was over for her. I put a clump of dirt on her to hold
her down just in case. I went ahead and walked the garden to check the
other
plants. When I went back for my Trophy she was upright and out from under
the
dirt clump. I couldn't believe it. She looked as if she was ready to take
off
again. I crushed her this time, brought her to the deck and put her in some
water with a lid over her. Then I put her in an old Vitamin bottle. I know
I
got her now but I don't dare open the bottle!
Hey Alan...did you use a child-proof cap? I had one unscrew the cap from
inside, put a dummy borer-lookalike in there, rescrew it and then went around
laying eggs. It was hours before I realized she did the old
borer-switch-er-oo on me....they ARE tough ! (I proposed a 300 lb handicap
for fruit in borer areas a couple years ago....the PNW guys didn't like
that....)
