Sorry for the lack of info. the vine has split just above the soil level,
it is a lengthwise split continuing about 6-8" up the vine. The plants are
not staked but do not seem to be under a weight stress. Hope this helps.

Yo Deb,
you did not say where about the vine split...is it because you have
the vines pegged down and the end wants to lift up or because the vine is
raised up at the tips and wants to lay down and the weight is causing the
splits...are the splits lenghtways or across?We need a bit more info.
