dat wascally woodchuck

Oh, one of the disadvantages of growing giant pumpkins in a community garden.
Since there are inexperienced gardeners(newly transplanted city folk) who think gardening is so quaint in our garden association, they got together and decided that our electric fence was a hazard to their small children who they allow to run wild through other peoples gardens.
Mr. Woodchuck laughed his little fanny off, and came strolling into our plot yesterday AM after easily digging under our regular fence.. He feasted on every growth tip on our cherished AG plants.
Out came the trusty "Have a hart" loaded with a small Zucchini from the local farmers market since ours have not begun to produce yet.
This morning we found one very large, angry woodchuck trapped within the depths. He was hauled away, never to be heard from again.
I have confidence that our babies will produce secondaries, and although slowed for the moment, will not be stopped. Hubby is not quite so confident.
My plant however, grows at home far far away from that location where I can put up any fence I desire :-)
