Re: Help me fast I need compost!

Are you growing mushrooms or pumpkins? If its mushrooms, you've got the
wrong list. If you're growing pumpkins, then good ol' steer manure and all
the lawn, leaves and kitchen cuttings make the best compost in the world-it
does need to be heaped and "seasoned" for a few weeks .You can also buy
commercial compost, but I think "homemade" is best. Recycles all of your
clippings and cuttings too, so no need to bag up all that stuff for the
garbage patrol to haul off. I also turn my heap, with a pitch fork every
time I add something to it. I scoop from the bottom and stack it on the top,
until it all mixes up. Doesn't take more than 5-10 min a couple times a
week. It all rots faster that way, water a couple times a week also. Once
in a while I add a bag or two of steer manure just to richen it up. (feeds
the worms i add also) Once started, its very little maintenance. Good
Luck!
