It is possible for the plant to heal itself.  How far out on the vine did the problem occur?  I have had this happen also, what I did was bury the vine and mound some dirt up over it... in about a week, it had calloused over and was healed.  It may be worth a try.
 
 I can understand your weather problems, I had snow here May 17th... and 3 days of temps in the low 40's and freezes at night!.

Here in the great basin of Utah, the 10:00 O'clock news just issued a freeze warning! I PARTIALLY SNAPPED THE MAIN VINE on my 845 Bobier while putting a cover over the plant tonight. I set the main vine back in place. IS THERE A CHANCE IT CAN HEAL ITSELF, OR IS IT JUST A POLLINATING PLANT NOW?
