Absolutely. This is why I've convinced two neighbors to grow them
this year, although I don't think there is much passion among them.
I cringed when I heard that this year's family reunion is scheduled
for July 7-10... "That's right in the heart of pollination time!"
Last year was the same thing, and I came home to find that the bees
did a better job than I ever did, but of course I couldn't question
the bees to find out where they'd been! So I had good, growing
pumpkins in ideal locations on the plant, but no information on
who the father was!
Anyway, that, along with the baby, is why I tried to get an early
start this year. But with this cold weather, I'll probably be
into the second week of July like usual.
