Hello All -
Just a fertilizer question regarding how much and how often...
I've been using Alaska Fish and more recently switched to manure tea. I've
got a half barrel with a few scoops of old poops that I keep topped off with
water. Do I ever need to change out the manure? It is as rich as possible. Is it
bad when the beginnings of algae (I think) form on the manure tea surface? I've
just stirred it up and used it so far. Also, how much is too much? I've been
applying a 1-2 quart (+or -) dose for each plant each evening in addition
to a quart or two of water as well. They all seem happy and two have begun their
run this week with what looks like the beginnings of blossom buds near the heart
of the main trunk. Sounds like I ought to back off on the nitrogen rich manure
tea when the blossoms mature to the pollination stage - right? What are folks'
favorites to apply then? I haven't found a high Potassium fertilizer to buy
yet.
Any input you offer I'll gobble it up. Thanks all.
Also, do growers ever share their customized growth charts they use for
daily or weekly tracking? I'm about to re-invent the wheel, I suspect. Feel free
to email me personally.
