Hey folks-
Would it be "against" the "RULES" to add orange
tint to your water during the growing season? I personally like the deep &
darker orange color, so last season, when my biggest one started out so pale, I
actually added one dose( 5 gals.) of dark orange food-colored water on my mound.
About a week later, I did notice a lot of orange streaking around the stem of
the fruit (on the pumpkin flesh) I cannot say how much this affected the overall
color & the streaked look did fade by harvest time. (My fruit turned out a
nice pale orange-) I wasn't in competion last season, but anyone care to
comment??
