Just my point, the biggest fruit wins regardless of
color......orange, yellow, cream, cantalope, pink, lime, green, rainbow,
blueish,grayish....the largest pumpkins have been bred to be
orange.
Hopefully the sport doesn't become too politically oriented
but rather what nature provides as the heaviest pumpkin, but give those others a
chance who have bred or want to breed other colors if they so happen to get to a
larger weight than the popular orange. Cream and green generally weigh more and
may possibly become the largest fruit in time. People like to see different
colors because it adds to their curiosity..my point is not the most popular but
will motivate some underdogs to occasionally take the highest weight in
time....I'm growing green and orange this year. Point is the biggest fruit
(pumpkin) wins and this is what people deep down come to see first..the King
pumpkin. We'll see the time where someone will grow the monster rainbow fruit
and the judges will put it aside and talk while the people crowd around and
cheer.........Human nature my friend.
