Re:squash vine borers

Hi List,

Today I stopped by the Walmart to pick-up something to spray for ticks and
chiggers along the edge of the woods. I came across a new product called
"Triazicide" from Spectracide that was listed for just the use I had in mind
so I decided to try it (at $9.59 for 1 qt this had better be good!!). Well
the active ingredient is Lambda-Cyhalothrin which sounded familiar, so I
looked through my notes and discovered that this is the same stuff that is
in Warrior-T and Scimitar, but at 1/20 the concentration of Warrior-T. Does
this sound like something that I might use on my pumpkins to help control
SVB's??? Last summer I used Ortho Bug-B-Gone with Esfenvalerate which
worked fairly well (I still had some SVB damage, but nothing like in years
past) but I am looking for something better. I just can't pay the price for
Scimitar (I realize that this Triazicide stuff is actually more expensive
because it is so dilute, but I can afford the small quantity).
