Re: Flat vine vs. round vines?

POP!  That must have been the sound made by my 1230 Daletas when the vine exploded. I came home on Friday to this upsetting scene.  Attached are photos of what I believe is termed a flat vine that gave way at about four feet.  I had planned to continue on a secondary, but am not so sure now that I hear they may be impossible to get them to set fruit.  Any experience on this and take a look at the photos.

My Wife hade a plant do this last year and it never split apart it had dozens of male and female on it but no matter what we did to pollinate nothing would set

I thought may help give an idea of what Tom is saying. This is a 723 Bobier with four tendrils, multiple leaves and blossoms at this leaf junction. I'm giving this plant a little more time but will soon make a decision on what to do. I will probably let a secondary take over as main if  the plant doesn't self correct soon and I suspect that is unlikely. I'm already committed to keeping this plant so I'll do what I can to make the most of the situation but I'm definitely not overly optimistic at this point. ,,,,,,,Marv
