Re: Rick's web site updated

Glad to see you're still in the game.  I am using this new screen name since I was getting so much junk at the old one.  I  grew a few AG's from some old seeds last year but they didn't amount to much.  I tried some Cinderellas and had some beautiful fruit.  They had a reddish-orange color.
However, when I picked them I found one had a hole drilled in the side.  Probably from a chipmunk who was eating the seeds.  All of them had many marks on the bottom where something was biting the skin.  Couldn't see it until I picked them.  I put what looked presentable out front as usual.
It's a great sport but I can't give it the time it requires.
This year I started some cucumbers and some
seeds of a small pumpkin variety. They were easily distinguishable as seedlings.  The wet weather kept me from planting in my garden.
Finally, I planted the seedlings.  Somehow, I planted all cucumbers and mistakenly had held
the pumpkins as reserves.  They were stressed out and soon blossomed.  That's when I knew I
had screwed up.  So, I planted the elderly pumpkins last week and think they will make it.
I thought I could tell the difference ibetween the seedlings but I guess I couldn't.
I planted a row of sunflowers as a windbreak but
a monster rabbit ate half of them.
Now the chipmunks are back, and their numbers have increased.  Sqirrels are a pain but they don't seem to be vegetarians.
Nancy and I went to Clarence last fall but the
entries were much fewer and smaller. Pukos
won with one of his pumpkins.  I understand that it was not his biggest.
I read the messages on the Pumpkin list but do not contribute any.  I saw your msg and thought I would say hello.
