RE: Correspondence from purgatory

At first I thought the same thing, but here in VA, my farm is loaded with yellow finches, I have 3 creeks, a pond and it's rained something like 35 out of the last 30 days. I have the same small holes with no bugs.

Try putting out some water for the birds they may be trying to get the
misted water off the plants??? I wish I could get a couple 80 degree days!

Hello listers!

Been over 100 degrees in my Southern Oregon patch for 2 days and no end
in sight. The misters are working hard.

I had some major germination issues, but have five strong plants anyway.
They are looking good with one issue.

I found some holes in my leaves, and suspected a bug problem. I
inspected every plant and found no bugs. I decided to apply powdered
sevin anyway and when leaving the patch to get it noticed some movement
near/on a plant. To my surprise, it was birds. No bugs, but the little
yellow finches are landing on my plants and pecking holes in my leaves.
They bent one plant over which I propped up and buried deeper.

Anyone else ever had little birds eating their leaves? What did you do
to control it?

Good luck this season all, and thanks for any suggestions!

God Bless,

Dale E Fisher
