Views of Vine Size
Hi,
This is my second year of growing AG pumpkins. First one was
about 15 years ago and then moved to the DC area with no room
for a garden.
I live in TN and we have had an exceptionally wet spring which
slowed down my two vines. They are about 6' each(mains) now and
growing about 5 inches a day. My question is whether I should
wait until the vines mature to a larger and longer size before
starting to cull the small pumpkins, even if this means waiting
until later in July? I don't expect to have any monsters this
year but the vines are looking good and the cuke beetles are in
check. I think I will beat my first pumpkin (150 lbs.) as I
have about 4 times the garden space than my first year and have
learned a lot over the years from reading the Mallorn Pumpkins

Any observations would certainly be appreciated. Thanks!
