Thanks for the great advice. That is indeed what I wanted to
hear! With several posts indicating that having a female set
further out on the vine, I figured that it would be worth the
wait, even if it didn't have as much time to develop. The couple
of vines that I have are from the one ton cross. I wonder if
anyone else has had good luck with that seed.
How is your patch doing this year? One other question, how are
the seeds obtained from the different pumpkins each year. Do
different growers trade among themselves? Do you just contact
the grower directly? I am sure the one ton cross has potential,
but I wouldn't mind trying a different strain next year. Of
course, I need to read up (in the archives) to see how well
those seeds have done in the past.
