Hmm... well I wouldn't say mutation per se...

Its more like, the plant doesn't need to "stretch" to get all the sunlight it needs
so it's content to keep it's stems short and stalky. And this is better for me,
because I need to avoid wind. But at the same time, I can't seem to get the vine
length I need....

Cliff, It is my understanding that the solar spectrum has changed alittle.
We now see a white sun instead of gold.  This is caused by increases in the
Ultraviolet and Infrared ranges.  They can affect phenotypic displays in
plants and increase the natural mutation rate.  Might cause some of whats
being seen????????????
