Wet SE Mn.

I have to agree with Dave Bhaskaran that it has been wet in SE Minnesota as my patch also received 11+ inches of rain since May 25, and more is expected Tuesday evening. Over half of the rain came within a couple of days and caused minor flooding in the area. A creek borders my patch and I was worried that it would overflow, but the pumpkin gods were in my favor as the creek reached only 3/4 full. Besides the wetness, the temperatures have been on the cool side.

My plants still look good after all this and my best plants are still ahead of last years plants at the same time. Right now the plants are starting to take off which is really great news. Here are the vine length of my plants in inches:

1) 832.5 Heyne 03 -- 60 -- This plant has the longest vine length and largest leaves. The plant has averaged 8 inches of vine growth the past three days (sun with no rain).
2) 1458 (dmg) Whittier 03 -- 50.5
3) 1180 Daletas 03 -- 48
4) 1097.5 Beachy 02 -- 40 -- Grew my personal best last year from a 1097.5 Beachy seed.
5) 1134 Holland 03 -- 38
6) 1301.4 Whittier 03 -- 27.5
7) 1064 Sherwood 03 -- 24

If everything stays on track, I should start pollinating around the first of July.
