Jim,
You're fine...just cut off the main vine and use a secondary as your new main, don't try to use a bad main..unless a small tear...I try to grab a secondary that is growing well near?the break...you can still grow?a big pumpkin...1000+...the secondary will convert to a nice thick Main for you.

so tight that it cuts the vine, leave on for about 10 days then remove so the
vine can grow.
