Joe,
Thanks for the note. I too have watched Joels video's in past years
and learned from them as well as fellow growers. However I didn't see last
years tape. When he came to our patch I wasn't real proud of the
progress. What did he actually put in the tape related to our patch? (just
curious) I may have to call Joel and order one for myself. Some of the
patches my husband and I have visited are so well groomed. Our gardening
techniques are just old fashioned compared to the heavy hitters. But we can
still get in the big range I believe, without warmed irrigation ect... We
just try to keep the bad bugs and weeds away . Provide water, fertilizer,
wind protection and shade to the fruit. Oh I forgot to mention pruning and
vine covering. Man oh man... We have alot of work to do don't we. It's fun
and rewarding all the same. Hope to hear from you again.
How are your plants doing?
We have a Stellphlug 737 squash seed in the patch. It's the best of
the bunch. This is the first squash for us. Hope we get a big shinny green
one like the ones we saw at weighoff a couple years ago in Clackamas,
Oregon. Not too many in the northwest region are into growing them.
