Re: a little depressed

John,
If you have 4 or 5 leaves and the plant is taking hold, you will be O.K.
Some areas of the country have been warm and some places have been cool. It
makes NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL right now, if you have 5 leaves or a 5 foot vine.
There will be a few people with 200 pound pumpkins next month and I will just
be pollinating. The length of growth of an Atlantic Giant depends on time and
degree days. In cool areas, the growth period may be 150 days......in hot
areas a plant might go 110 or 120 days. Keep your chin up and baby those
plants and in September when the warm weather early birds have stopped
growing and you are packing on 10 pounds a day with no signs of stopping, a
little smile will come to your face. It is more important where you end
up....not who has the first pumpkin. Some growers in Nova Scotia are just
putting their plants in, and they are noted for some pretty big pumpkins.
